Some barcode scanners are putting a random character at the beginning of a scan. If they scan a shelf label it will prepend a $ or a!
In front what was scanned in the text box on the scanner app. I am not sure if this is only with the new guns that were purchased or if it is with all of them.

I do not think it would have anything to do with WEP, but they previously had WEP with no encryption and I had added an encryption key to the new wireless network connection. I would think this would be a font issue on the gun.Wasn't sure where else to put this. Thanks guys and gals. Just something to look into.on a side note i have no other ideas as to what it could be that would be causing this extra character to read what is not there.old Thread i know but this was a GREAT tip. We have a several remote facilities that we have no IT at. Any time there is a scangun issue it is a pain to try and walk them through any steps on the scangun. This is going to be such a timesaver.
